Super fun adventure for entire family

- Tyler Roodt

AFTER a 14-year wait, the highly-anticipated sequel to Disney Pixar’s beloved superhero adventure is finally here.

The Parr family returns with an all new adventure that sees Helen/Elastigirl (played by Holly Hunter) setting out on her own superhero adventure, leaving Bob/Mr Incredible (Craig T Nelson) to handle things back at home with the kids, Dash (Huck Milner), Violet (Sarah Vowell) and Jack-Jack.

As Helen takes the spotlight, she will be tasked with bringing the rest of the supers out of hiding and along the way she will discover a new threat in the form of a hypnotic super villain known as Screenslaver.

However, home life for a retired superhero won’t be a walk in the park either, because in addition to the regular parental duties, baby Jack-Jack’s superpowers are beginning to show themselves, and there are quite a few of them.

Fan favourites from the first movie will also be returning, including the icy cool hero, Frozone (Samuel L Jackson) and the small but sassy super fashionista Edna Mode (Brad Bird).

The first movie was a box office hit and was Pixar’s first movie to win multiple Oscars.

Despite all the superhero hijinks, director Brad Bird said the super part of this superhero movie is not the best part. “I realised that the super hero aspect of the story didn’t interest me nearly as much as the whole family dynamic.

“I think that people see themselves in these characters and that’s why they fell for them the way they did. The Incredibles and now Incredibles 2 are really stories about a family,” he said

Incredibles 2 is not just a superhero story, but a fun and also heartwarming story that the entire family can enjoy.

You can catch it in cinemas now.
