SOFT, buttery fudge… just the thought makes the mouth water. Now, add the bubbly zing of Polkadraai sparkling wine and you’ll discover a match made in tongue-twinging heaven. That’s just one of the exciting new pairing extravagan­zas to launch for summer at Stellenbos­ch Hills this November.

For R40 a person, a duo of Stellenbos­ch Hills’ Polkadraai bubblies can be tasted, each with a custom-made fudge created by the boutique Basilei Handcrafte­d Confection­ary.

Paired with traditiona­l butter fudge, the Polkadraai Pinot Noir Sparkling Rosé 2018 is a wine that brims with flavours of red berry and strawberry, and a hint of candy floss.

The Polkadraai Sauvignon Blanc Brut 2018’s crisp palate and flavours of tropical fruit are just the ticket when sampled alongside Basilei’s delectable chocolate malt fudge.

The tasting room is at the corner of the R310 and Vlottenbur­g Road, Stellenbos­ch. The tasting room is open Mondays to Fridays 9am till 5pm and Saturdays 10am till 3pm.
