Investment watches are focus at sale

KENNY Finberg Auctioneers will hold an end-of-the-month auction at the Lord Charles Hotel in Somerset West, giving potential buyers another chance to bid for watches from an extensive range.

“With a major resurgence of interest worldwide in the collectability of watches, a highlight of the auction will be a selection of timepieces of all designs from all ages, and for all pocket sizes,” says auctioneer Kenny Finberg. “There will be offerings for both men and women, and brands will include Rolex, IWC, Breitling, Cartier, Tag Heuer and Omega.”

Of special significance will be a selection of Rolexes, ranging from stainless steel to 18ct gold and diamonds, he says.

The auction will also offer jewellery, including vintage items from a single estate.

There will objets d’art, paintings and prints, and a major, one-owner African art collection that includes rare and highly collectable items. The sale will also feature ceramics by South African master potters.

The fine art on offer is comprehensive, with an emphasis on the contemporary. Oriental carpets will be on offer too.

The auction will start at 10am on Sunday at the Lord Charles Hotel in Somerset West. Viewing will begin at 9am.
