Sprinkle this distinctiv­e, spicy mixture over vegetables such as pumpkin, sweet potato and cabbage before braaiing.

MAKES ABOUT 25 ml

5 ml (1 t) each ground cumin, ground coriander, ground nutmeg and paprika

2 ml (½ t) each ground allspice and ground ginger

1 ml (¼ t) each cayenne pepper and ground cinnamon

Mix all the ingredient­s and store in an airtight container.
