As temperatur­es drop and winter rolls in, start your day with the Energy Champion and enjoy a delicious, warm bowl of Jungle Oats. The steamy goodness of a bowl of 100 percent wholegrain oats is high in fibre, low in sodium, contains no added sugar or preservati­ves and keeps you fuller for longer. It’s also the perfect base for a wide range of toppings, ideal to use in baking and as a delicious ingredient in smoothies.

Creamy Jungle Oats with rooibos and cinnamon

Serves 4 OATS 250 ml (1 c) Jungle Oats Original 375 ml (1½ c) full-cream milk 250 ml (1 c) water 2 rooibos tea bags 1 cinnamon stick pinch of salt TOPPING (optional) 60 ml (¼ c) full-cream plain yoghurt 15-30 ml (1-2 T) honey ground cinnamon for dusting 1 Granny Smith apple, sliced 50 g raw almonds 1 OATS Bring the milk, water, tea bags, cinnamon stick and salt to the boil in a medium-size pot. Remove the teabags and gradually add the Jungle Oats Original while stirring. 2 Simmer the oats for 3-5 minutes or until cooked. Stir occasional­ly. Remove the cinnamon stick. 3 TOPPING Spoon the oats into bowls and top with yoghurt. Add milk if required for a creamier taste. Drizzle with honey, dust with ground cinnamon, arrange the apples on top and scatter with almonds. Serve hot.
