A CRUEL DECISION

-

The parents who were convicted of the murder of their baby who was only fed apple juice and soya milk will have a very long time to think about their actions (YOU, 28 July). While it’s the individual’s decision to behave the way they feel is right, that decision can’t be taken by an infant or a very small child. For the parents to force their beliefs onto a helpless human being is reprehensible.

Medical professionals stated in the article that a vegan diet isn’t recommended for an infant or very young person. All sorts of nutrients are needed by growing kids. When the body has matured, perhaps then it could be adopted as an eating style without too many repercussions. JUSTINE, OBSERVATORY
