WEDDING RING BOWL

YOU NEED White air-dry clay Plastic rolling pin Medium bowl Craft knife Crocheted or lace doily Scrapbook letters and shapes Wooden skewer STEP 1 Working on a plastic nonstick surface, roll a ball of air-dry clay flat with a rolling pin. Flip the clay over a few times to get a smooth finish on both sides. Aim for a thickness of about 3 mm.

STEP 2

Small bowl Clingfilm Low-grit sandpaper Size (gold-leaf adhesive) Gold leaf Soft-bristle brush Decorative cord or ribbon scrapbook shapes into the clay next to the doily impression. Use the tip of the skewer to make sure the letters’ complete outline is pressed into the clay. Then use the skewer to remove the letters carefully.

STEP 5

STEP 1 Follow step 1 of the wedding ring bowl then place the bowl over the clay and cut with a scalloped cookie cutter. STEP 2 Line the bowl with clingfilm and gently place the clay cutout in the bowl. Leave to dry for at least 24 hours. STEP 1

make small dots all over the inside and rim of the bowl. Allow to dry. STEP 4 Apply spray paint to the top and sides of the bowl and the memento. I used a chess piece from my grandparen­ts’ set. STEP 5 Once the paint has dried, remove the masking dots with a pin and glue the memento in place.
