This muso is known for his badass drum covers on YouTube. Cobus, who’s selftaught, started posting his covers in 2007 and has since become a YouTube phenomenon with more than 600 000 subscribers. Born Pieter Jacobus Potgieter he grew up in Humansdorp in the Eastern Cape. His musical journey began when he joined a band called Glaskas while still at school. Earlier this year he was invited to perform with one of his favourite bands, UK pop-rockers Busted, on a reunion tour. “I’ve been listening to Busted since I started drumming as a 16-year-old, so to be able to join them on this reunion tour is nothing short of a dream come true,” he says. This trend forecaster and men’s fashion analyst is making waves in the fashion industry. He’s the new face of an ad campaign for American Swiss and was the creative director for this year’s Samas. He even nabbed a spot on Forbes Africa’s list of the most influential people under 30. Is there anything this local hottie can’t do? The Cape Town fashionista is becoming one of SA’s internet sensations thanks to her funny vlogs and on-point fashion choices. She also loves to prank her mom, Nawal – we can’t get enough of the comedic duo’s funny videos on YouTube and Instagram – not to mention the swoon-worthy vids Nadia posts of her and her beau, Dean Herbert. Talk about relationship goals! Her name is on everyone’s lips after she recently made her debut in the second season of the hit US TV show Quantico. The host of Lip Sync Battle Africa now hangs out in New York with famous costars like Priyanka Chopra and Blair Underwood. The local beauty has also launched her own hair-care line and even has a song dedicated to her – rapper Emtee’s infectious tune Pearl Thusi. Go, Pearl!
