1 pair each 3,25 mm, 3,75 mm and 4 mm knitting needles 2 stitch holders Tapestry needle TENSION 22 sts and 30 rows to 10 cm measured over st st using 4 mm Ns. NOTE Instructio­ns are given for the smallest size with the larger sizes in brackets ( ); where only one set of figures is given it applies to all sizes. BUNNY HAT Using 3,25 mm Ns, c/on 95 (101;107;115) sts. 1st row (RS): * k1, p1; rep from * to last st, k1. 2nd row: * p1, k1; rep from * to last st, p1. These 2 rows form the rib patt. Work 3 (3;5;5) more rows in rib. Next row (WS): p9 (8;7;11), p2tog, [p2, p2tog] 19 (21;23;23) times, p8 (7;6;10) [75 (79;83;91) sts]. Change to 4 mm Ns. Work in fisherman’s rib patt as folls: 1st row (RS): sl 1, k to end of row. 2nd row: sl 1, * k1B (see abbreviati­ons), p1; rep from * to end. These 2 rows form the patt. Cont in patt until work measures 11 (12;13;13) cm from the beg, ending with a RS row. 1st, 3rd and 4th sizes only: Dec 2 sts evenly across next row [73 (81;89) sts]. 2nd size only: Inc 2 sts evenly across next row [81 sts]. Shape crown All sizes: 1st row: * k5, sl 1, k2tog, psso; rep from * to last st, k1 [55 (61;61;67) sts]. Work 5 rows. 7th row: * k3, sl 1, k2tog, psso; rep from * to last st, k1 [37 (41;41;45) sts]. Work 5 rows. 13th row: * k1, sl 1, k2tog, psso; rep from * to last st, k1 [19 (21;21;23) sts]. Work 5 rows. 19th row: * [k2tog] 9 (10;10;11) times, k1 [10 (11;11;12) sts]. Break off yarn and thread through the rem 10 (11;11;12) sts. Pull up tight and fasten off securely. BUNNY EARS (make 4 alike) Using 4 mm Ns, c/on 7 sts. Starting with a k row, work in st st for 6 rows. Cont working in st st, working shaping as folls: Next row: inc 1 st at each end of row [9 sts]. Work 3 rows straight on these sts.

Next row: inc 1 st at each end of row [11 sts]. Work 3 rows straight on these sts. Next row: inc 1 st at each end of row [13 sts]. Work 9 rows straight on these sts. Next row: dec 1 st at each end of row [11 sts]. Work 3 rows straight on these sts. Next row: dec 1 st at each end of row [9 sts]. Now dec 1 st at each end of the next and every foll alt row until 3 sts rem on your Ns. Next row: k3tog [1 st]. Fasten off securely. TO MAKE UP Darn in loose ends of yarn. Join the seam of hat and place at the centre back. With right sides facing, sew two ear pieces together around the outer edge, leaving an opening on the side for turning. Turn through to the RS, push a N into the points of ears so they lie smoothly. Close opening neatly. Sew one ear to either side of the crown section of hat securely. Cover with a clean, damp cloth and leave until dry. MITTENS (both alike) Using 3,25 mm Ns, c/on 23 (25;27) sts. 1st row (RS): * k1, p1; rep from * to last st, k1. 2nd row: * p1, k1; rep from * to last st, p1. These 2 rows form the rib patt. Cont in rib until work measures 7 (7;8) cm, ending with a WS row. Change to 4 mm Ns. 1st row (RS): sl 1, k to end. 2nd row: sl 1, * k1B, p1; rep from * to end. These 2 rows form the fisherman’s rib patt. Work 25 (27;29) rows in patt. Shape top Next row: k1, sl 1, k1, psso, patt 6 (7;8), sl 1, k1, psso, k1, k2tog, patt 6 (7;8), k2tog, k1 [19 (21;23) sts]. Next row: patt. Next row: k1, sl 1, k1, psso, patt 4 (5;6), sl 1, k1, psso, k1, k2tog, patt 4 (5;6), k2tog, k1 [15 (17;19) sts]. Next row: patt. Next row: k1, sl 1, k1, psso, patt 2 (3;4), sl 1, k1, psso, k1, k2tog, patt 2 (3;4), k2tog, k1 [11 (13;15) sts]. Next row: patt. C/off the rem 11 (13;15) sts. TO MAKE UP Using a ladder stitch, join the seam, reversing the stitching for the first 3 (3;4) cm for the cuff turn back. Cover with a clean, damp cloth and leave until dry. BOOTIES Note: The booties are worked using 3,75 mm Ns throughout. They’re designed in three pieces: a sole, a foot upper and an outer section which includes a lining. The pieces are worked in different stitch patterns. It’s advisable to read the instructio­ns carefully before you begin. SOLES (both alike) Using 3,75 mm Ns, c/on 7 (9;10) sts. 1st row: k. Cont in g st as folls: Work 1 row. Inc 1 st at each end of next row and every foll alt row until you have 15 (17;18) sts on Ns. Work 11 (15;17) rows on these sts without shaping. Shape toe Dec 1 st at each end of next row, then dec 1 st at each end of every foll 4th (6th;6th) row until you have 9 (13;14) sts on the Ns. 3rd size only: Work 4 rows, dec 1 st at each end of 1st row [12 sts]. All sizes: Dec 1 st at each end of next and every foll alt row until you have 5 (7;8) sts on the Ns. C/off the rem 5 (7;8) sts (this is a WS row). OUTER SECTIONS (both alike) Using 3,75 mm Ns, c/on 7 sts loosely. 1st row (RS): inc in 1st st, k4, inc in next st, k1 [9 sts]. 2nd row: sl 1, [k1B, p1] 4 times. 3rd row: inc in 1st st, k to last 2 sts, inc in next st, k1 [11 sts]. The last 2 rows set the incs and patt. Cont in patt as folls: Work 2 rows, inc 1 st at each end of every row [15 sts]. 6th row: patt. 7th row: patt to end, c/on 10 (10;14) sts [25 (25;29) sts]. 8th row: work as given for 7th row [35 (35;43) sts]. Work 16 (16;20) rows straight on these 35 (35;43) sts in patt. Lining Next row: k to end, inc 2 sts across row [37 (37;45) sts]. Next row: p. Next row: k. Next row: p. Cont in st st until the lining section measures 3 (4;4) cm, ending with a RS row. Next row: p to end, dec 2 sts evenly across the row [35 (35;43) sts]. Next row: c/off 10 (10;14) sts loosely, k to end [25 (25;29) sts]. Next row: c/off 10 (10;14) sts loosely, p to end [15 sts]. Work 4 rows, dec 1 st at each end of every row [7 sts]. C/off the rem 7 sts. FOOT UPPERS (both alike) Using 3,75 mm Ns, c/on 11 (11;17) sts. Working in fisherman’s rib patt (see Mittens), work 4 rows, inc 1 st at each end of row on the 3rd and 4th rows [15 (15;21) sts]. Inc 1 st at each end of next row and every foll alt row until you have 21 (21;27) sts on your Ns. Work 10 (12;14) rows on these 21 (21;27) sts without shaping. Foot upper shaping Next row: patt 9 (9;11), turn, leave the rem 12 (12;16) sts on a st holder. Next row: p2tog, patt to end [8 (8;10) sts]. Next row: patt to last 2 sts, k2tog [7 (7;9) sts]. Cont without shaping on these 7 (7;9) sts until the work measures 12 (12;15) cm from the c/on sts, ending with a WS row. C/off. With RS facing, rejoin yarn to the rem 12 (12;16) sts left on st holder, c/off the next 3 (3;5) sts, patt to end [9 (9;11) sts]. Next row: patt to last 2 sts, p2tog [8 (8;10) sts]. Next row: k2tog, patt to end [7 (7;9) sts]. Cont without shaping until work measures 12 (12;15) cm from c/on sts, ending with a WS row. C/off. TO MAKE UP Using a ladder stitch, join the back seam of the outer upper legs and linings, reversing the seam for the lining section. Join c/off edges of foot uppers. Fold the leg linings in place inside the outer upper legs. Sew the outer leg upper and foot upper together. Sew the foot uppers to the soles, working in small neat slipstitch­es.
