WHY WASN’T HE SATISFIED WITH ME?

-

My boyfriend and I were together for two years but then he left me, saying he wants to move on with his life.

I don’t understand. I did everything for him. He lived with me and I was the breadwinner while he was unemployed for a long time. I saw that the house was always neat and that there was food on the table and his friends were free to come to our home and enjoy themselves. He did nothing but sit at home and watch TV.

Then he and a friend decided to start a business and I even gave them some money to do so.

Now that the business is thriving, he suddenly says he wants to move on with life.

I don’t understand it. Why wasn’t he satisfied with me? Even my friends told me I’m a model partner. Jay, email It seems as if your boyfriend was just using you – while he was down and out he was happy to have you looking after him, and now that he’s on his feet again he wants to move on.

This says more about him than about you – it says he’s a user who’s happy to take advantage of people when it suits him. Being a model partner doesn’t mean that you give all the time without expecting anything back – think twice before being so generous again as it can easily be taken advantage of.

You should forget this guy – he doesn’t deserve to have someone as faithful and caring as you. Give yourself time to find someone who appreciates you and is willing to give as well as take. Relationships should be a partnership between two people who mutually respect each other and are both willing to give and take.

The heartache you feel now won’t last forever, and then you must move on. You deserve better!
