I BEAT MY ADDICTION
FEW people get as many chances as I once had, and I successfully managed to mess up each and every one. For many years I was addicted to prescription drugs, living in my own world and taking little or no responsibility for anything in my life.
With no hope left, I was considering suicide when a friend called me out of the blue and said I’d been on her mind and she felt she needed to call. That was six years ago. One thing led to another and I can now say that I’m happy, drug-free and enjoying all the blessings life has to offer.
Any addiction starts and ends with a choice. I’ve experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, and I would never, ever want to go back there again.
I’m now involved in charity work, I run my own business, and I’m so grateful that I still enjoy good health despite the torture I put my body through as an addict.
To those of you who battle addiction, there are resources and organisations out there willing to help. All you need to do is reach out and ask.
Addiction can be beaten – I’m living proof. LYN, EMAIL
