JUST LIKE GREAT-GRAN!

-

PORCELAIN skin, glossy brown hair and a blue gaze that seems to pierce right through you. The little princess may be barely two years old but she’s the spitting image of her famous great-grandmother – in looks as well as a dash of regal authority.

Prince William and his wife, Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, recently released a brand-new portrait of their tot to mark her second birthday – and it wasn’t merely the fact that the royal-watching world loves an update on the blue-blooded rug rats that had people talking. It was the fact that, once again, Princess Charlotte showed she’s a dead ringer for 91-year-old Queen Elizabeth.

Proud mom Kate (35) might have wanted to highlight just that in the newest pic of her daughter, whom she dressed in an old-school cardigan similar to the type the royal matriarch favours. And in the pint-size princess’ hair was a barrette not unlike the one Her Majesty wore in her locks as a lass.

But looks aren’t all the queen and her great-granddaughter have in common: Charlotte is already showing she’s crazy about animals, much like the horsemad, corgi-loving head of the House of Windsor.

Remember how delighted Charlotte was with that bunny during a playdate during the family’s tour of Canada last year? And how her patient parents could barely tear her away from an enormous shaggy therapy dog called Moose?

Luckily Charlotte has family pooch Lupo, a black English cocker spaniel, and Marvin the hamster to cuddle at home at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, England. She loves Marvin in particular, Kate has revealed, because his “whiskers always tickle her face”.

And when it comes to horses, Charlotte is already beating her great-gran: Eliza-

beth had her first riding lesson age three but her mini-me was in the saddle before her second birthday, Kate recently told equestrian champion Natasha Baker.

“She [the duchess] said Charlotte is really enjoying her riding, which is great to hear,” Natasha said after speaking to Kate at a reception in Buckingham Palace. “And I said we might see her here on a line-up in 20 years’ time.”

Here’s more about the queen’s pretty great-granddaughter.

From her looks to her interests, little Princess Charlotte has plenty in common with the queen –and her brand worth is pure gold! Compiled by KIRSTIN BUICK & LINDSAY DE FREITAS
