LIFE IN A ROCK POOL

Tidal pools teem with life. We take a look at the creatures and plants that live in them

-

ATIDAL or rock pool is a body of water left behind when the sea recedes at low tide and can be large or small, deep or shallow. Think of them as natural aquariums with their own ecosystems where each living thing depends on the others to survive. Many marine species have adapted to live there and get their food thanks to the tide bringing in new organisms from the open ocean.
