THEIR NEW HOME
In between all their jetsetting they’ve been settling in at their new pad in the exclusive Washington, DC, neighbourhood of Kalorama.
Originally the Obamas planned to rent the property but after months of renovations to get it to their liking they shelled out $8,1 million (R105 million) to buy it.
With just nine bedrooms it’s a lot smaller than their accommodation during their eight-year stay in the White House but what does it really matter – they’re hardly ever at home.
And anyway, they probably won’t live there for long. Insiders predict they’ll move back to their hometown, Chicago, once their younger daughter, Sasha (16), finishes high school in the capital.
