THE BOSS BABY

Animated comedy. Tim (voiced by Tobey Maguire), a boy with an overactive imagination, thinks he, his mom (Lisa Kudrow) and dad (Jimmy Kimmel) are a perfect trio – until a baby brother (voiced by Alec Baldwin) who’s more than meets the eye arrives. Tim’s new brother wears a black suit complete with a tie and a briefcase and threatens to rob Tim of his parens’ affections.

Director Tom McGrath (the Madagascar movies) can’t decide whether he’s aiming this pointless film at kids or adults and by the end the viewer is left wondering where an hour-and-a-half of their life just went. – LYNN ELY 2017. 97 MIN. PG
