UVB RAYS

Although most of these rays are absorbed by the ozone layer, enough of them reach us to cause serious skin damage including sunburn and cataracts (clouding of the eye lens).

UVB rays can also affect our immune system and contribute to skin cancer. Melanoma, the most dangerous form of skin cancer, is thought to be associated with severe UVB sunburn that occurred before the age of 20.
