CHECK YOUR SLIPS

-

I’m one of those people who never checks my till slip. But a week ago I checked my slip and wasn’t impressed that I was charged R25 for a magazine that’s free to the store’s cardholder’s.

On the bottom of the slip it said the reward system was offline. That, I presume, was the reason I was charged.

Makes you wonder how many people were charged R25 for a free magazine. BE VIGILANT, EMAIL Regarding the De Jager family estate (YOU, 21 September), if those three male heirs wanted to do right by their female cousins they could surely compensate them in some way. It would serve them right if they eventually ran out of male heirs or the government took the land. ROUGH JUSTICE, SMS I agree with Granny about DStv (YOU Say, 28 September). My complaint is about programme repeats. And the news broadcasts are just pathetic, boring political panel discussions every 15 minutes. Not to mention all the funerals instead of news. FED-UP PENSIONER, PE Regarding Granny, who wants to bring back censorship, perhaps we can stone the adulterers and cut off the hands of thieves while we’re at it! TIM, SMS All the DStv repeat programmes are getting frustrating. Shows are coming up I’ve seen years ago. We’re paying a lot of money for this extra service. Is nobody taking notice of viewers complaints? LYNN, BETTY’S BAY In your article about getting ready for holidays (YOU, 28 September), the idea of a fitted sheet on the back seat is great – but what about the seat belts? PUZZLED, SMS Bonnie of Afternoon Express is such a sweetheart. She’s so natural. She doesn’t flaunt herself and isn’t full of her own imagined importance. JENNY, SMS Life has no certainties. Many of us go through pains of different kinds but there’s always hope because we still can breathe in the fresh air. PETER JAMES LEWIS, STELLENBOSCH
