HELPING HANDS

She’s been in the acting game for years so Meghan is no stranger to the limelight – but becoming a member of the British royal family would be another matter entirely

-

Meghan hasn’t quite begun the rigorous training Kate was put through before becoming Prince William’s wife – but she’s well on her way, according to Us Weekly.

Meghan has “a direct line” to Harry’s most trusted royal aides, the American magazine reports, including his private secretary, Edward Lane Fox, and communications secretary, Jason Knauf. The men are on call to handle questions or concerns Meghan might have. “There have been many times when Meghan has been unsure of royal protocol,” a source close to Harry says. “Having access to Harry’s aides has been a godsend.”

Another invaluable source of support on Team Meghan is someone who understands what the prince’s potential partner is going through: the Duchess of Cambridge. While Kate (35) came from relative obscurity and had to get used to constant scrutiny, she’s one-up on Mom Doria and dad Tom are a far cry from royalty. Meg in one respect: she’s British.

And thanks to the success her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, made of their business, Party Pieces, she had a rather well-to-do upbringing and attended exclusive private schools. After meeting William at St Andrews University in Scotland she’s rubbed shoulders with the double-barrelled elite of England and appears to have taken it all in her stride.

Meghan, on the other hand, is the daughter of an American clinical therapist and an electrician, and she’s a total newbie when it comes to the strange and sometimes stuffy ins and outs of British nobility. Here, kind-hearted Kate will be crucial as Meghan navigates this brave new world.

And the duchess is totally on board. She and Will have already been giving their possible future sister-in-law advice on how to handle things going forward. “She’s very much been accepted into the family,” an insider says. “Everyone is so happy to see Harry happy.”
