SET AN EXAMPLE, PARENTS

I’m writing in response to the traumatised

teen’s letter to Dr Louise (YOU, 19 October), in which she expressed her utter shock at finding out about her parents’ double life as swingers. I was taken aback by Dr Louise’s nonchalant response to the writer, telling the teen her parents’ sex-life is their business and then saying she shouldn’t overreact!

I feel Dr Louise disregarded the distraught writer’s emotions. It was a cry for help. Parents are meant to be role models for their children and be examples that their children aspire to.

If you’re not prepared to practise what you preach and be the responsible adult, then do us all a favour and refrain from having children. What the world needs is adults who take their place in society and lead by example. NADIA, EMAIL
