WEIGHTY MATTERS

-

My mother was one of five daughters, four of whom were large ladies. Most of their children in turn also experienced problems with their weight.

As a plump mother of two I was rudely told by a doctor to lose weight as obesity wasn’t hereditary. My children, as well as my sisters’ children, have varied from pleasantly plump to morbidly obese at one time or another, and our collective grandchildren also have weight issues.

My father, who also came from good solid stock, remarried after several years and two of his other children are also on the large side.

We reside in three different provinces so our eating habits are obviously not the same, nor do we exchange recipes. So if obesity isn’t hereditary, and not in our genes, what’s filling our jeans and why? PLUS-SIZE FAMILY, EMAIL
