LIVING IN PURRFECT HARMONY
You’d usually find one chasing the other, quite possibly in a life-and-death race, but sometimes Mother Nature turns up the most unexpected friendships. Meet Tintin the adorable squirrel who’s besties with Tiger, a 13-year-old tomcat.
The unlikely pair bonded after their mutual owner, Declan Anderson of Denmark, rescued the tiny rodent which had fallen out of a four storey tall tree and landed in his back garden.
Tintin, who was just a month old, had a nasty chest wound inflicted by a branch on his way down.
Declan initially left the youngster alone, hoping his mother would rescue him, but sadly she’d abandoned him.
So Declan decided to nurse the rodent, a Eurasian red squirrel, back to health. In the process the young animal struck up a bond with his cats, Tiger and sister Coco (who’s since died).
Today Tiger and Tintin are inseparable.
