100g butter 1 bunch spring onions, chopped 2 cloves garlic, crushed 1 cup finely chopped cabbage 1 cup finely chopped spinach 2 medium sweet potatoes,
grated 750ml (3 cup) chicken stock 210g (1½ cup) King Korn

pepper 1 In a large saucepan, melt the butter and fry the spring onions and garlic. Add cabbage, spinach and sweet potatoes, toss to mix and fry for 10 minutes or until wilted. 2 Pour in stock and bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes or until the vegetables are soft. 3 Add Mabele meal and, using a wooden spoon, stir until well mixed. Season to taste. Cover and cook over gentle heat for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
SSChef’s tips
To switch up the taste sensation, substitute sweet potatoes with turnips. Enhance the flavour by adding a cup of grated cheddar cheese at the end of the cooking time.
