Samsung’s latest addition to its budget A series has been dubbed the “better-latethan-never Galaxy S8 mini” and boasts features that come pretty close to the world’s top-of-the-range smartphones.

It has an almost bevel-less screen experience (at 75% to the S8’s 83%), infinity display, 4GB Ram, 16- and 8MP cameras at the front and 16MP at the back.

When it comes to security, the device is ahead of the pack. The 2018 A8 is the first phone in the Samsung A series with facial recognition lock system. This feature was previously available only in the S8 and S8+. You can unlock your phone in several ways: through facial recognition, a pattern, a security password or a fingerprint scanner (conveniently located under the rear camera).

The A8 is slightly bulkier than the slim S8 and S9 – but the price tag* certainly isn’t.
