Your blusher how-to
Transform your skin tone and face shape by using the right shade of blush, a good brush and strategic application
FAIR/LIGHT
When you have fair complexion, you need a blush with a cool undertone such as a light pink or rose colour with a faint hint of purple or blue. Soft peach with a yellow undertone also works well. Dark or bright colours could look harsh against your skin. To contour using a blush, find a neutral matte shade that’s one shade darker than your skin tone and blend along your jawline.
TAN/MEDIUM
These skin tones look good with colour, so find something bright or rich such as apricot or guava with an orange undertone to add a flattering warmth to your complexion. Anything too pale will make your skin look washed out. Try a darker blush such as a deep tan to contour, then go over it with a warm and brighter blush.
OLIVE/DARK
Deep-coloured blushes such as raisin and mauve work well for olive and dark skin tones. They soften contours and add a warm glow to your face. Colours that are too bright may add too much of a contrast, while lighter ones may make the skin appear grey.
