FLYING HIGH In the seqeul to Pacific Rim (2013) the 32-year-old plays Nate Lambert, co-pilot to John Boyega’s character Jake Pentecost. The adventure-loving Scott says he was drawn to the role as he’s a qualified pilot in real life. “I was fascinated with aviation from a young age.” Turns out a love of flying runs in the family – his mom, Jacelyn Reeves, is a former flight attendant and his dad, renowned filmmaker Clint Eastwood, is also a pilot. “As a kid I’d fly with my dad and I remember thinking it was the coolest thing ever.”

ON HIS OWN STEAM He’s never traded on his famous name. In fact, Scott used his mom’s surname when he started out in show business. He auditioned for all his dad’s movies and eventually landed the role of Joel Stransky in 2009’s Invictus – the movie Clint directed about the Rugby World Cup in 1995. In the early years Scott worked part-time jobs to pay the bills. “I had to bartend, valet-park cars and work construction while auditioning. Hollywood is a tough place.”

DON’T CALL HIM SEXY His name often comes up in sexiest men lists but Scott shrugs it off as he considers it “silly”. “Honestly, I grew up in California. I’m just one of the guys. And there are so many good-looking guys in California!” As for that buff bod? He says he’s always been active. “My dad got me into the gym at a young age.”

LAID-BACK DUDE He refuses to live in Los Angeles, calling the slower-paced city of San Diego in southern California home. “I go up to LA, work hard, have my meetings, and then I come back and live a different pace of life,” he says. “In my twenties I heard a lot of people say, ‘When I’m older, I’m going to do this, I’m going to live here and do that . . . when I’m older’, and I freaked out. I was like, ‘What do you mean, when you’re older? Life is happening right now.’ It freaked me out so badly that I decided, I’m moving. I’m not living in LA.”
