SHOE BLUES

Victoria Beckham is now paying the price for having a shoe fetish (YOU, 8 March)! Her bunions could have been avoided if she’d been taught to wear sensible shoes when growing up, but I suppose as the UK’s prima donna fashion queen her appearance must always come first.

My beloved late mother always used to recommend that if you couldn’t open your toes when fitting shoes, you shouldn’t buy them. Certain Asian countries don’t allow driving when wearing heels. One should always have a pair of good old-fashioned “sloffies” in the car. OLD-FASHIONED, WINDHOEK
