WHAT BURT SAID

-

Veteran actor BURT REYNOLDS (82) didn’t hold back when he recently sat down with US talk-show host Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live. The Boogie Nights star touched on topics ranging from his relationship with US President Donald Trump to the most overrated actress he’s worked with.

ON HIS FRIEND DONALD TRUMP The Oscar nominee has been friends with the US president for several decades but hasn’t been impressed with Trump’s actions since he’s been in office.

“He’s doing some good things, [but] mostly he’s acting on his instincts, which aren’t good.”

ON THE MOVIE HE’D ERASE FROM HIS CATALOGUE “Switching Channels [1988], the one I did with Kathleen Turner.

“The picture wasn’t good. And I didn’t get along with her,” he revealed before calling Kathleen (63) “over-rated”.

ON WHO’D PLAY HIM IN A MOVIE OF HIS LIFE The Striptease actor immediately said George Clooney but added, “He’s not quite as good looking as me but he’s got all the other things.”

ON THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE “I’d say Sally. Yes, Sally Field.” Burt also bizarrely claimed he’d been in love with the Hello, My Name Is Doris star since she was seven years old, which is strange because he and Sally (71) only met in the ’70s when they costarred in Smokey and the Bandit. Weird.

ON TURNING DOWN BOND The Deliverance star admitted he’d turned down the chance to be the first actor to play James Bond – a role which went to Sean Connery – because he felt an American shouldn’t portray the British spy. Asked if he regrets his decision, Burt said, “Yes, I do.”
