The Choir of St George’s Chapel Guests were treated to several traditiona­l hymns sung by the St George’s Chapel choir. Conducted by James Vivian, the choir consists of 23 boys from St George’s School in Windsor and 12 lay clerks. Founded in 1348, the choir sing throughout the week in the chapel and performs at venues throughout Europe. The Kingdom Choir The 20-strong Christian gospel group, who hail from southeast London, proved to be a surprise hit with their moving rendition of the 1961 soul classic Stand By Me, and the hymn This Little Light of Mine. Gospel conductor and founder Karen Gibson said the group were honoured to sing at the wedding. “It will be a moment we’ll always treasure.”

In 2000 the choir won BBC Radio 2’s Minstrels in the Gallery competitio­n and in 2002 they were nominated for best UK Choir at the Oasis Awards. They’ve performed on TV, in adverts, at corporate launches and at iconic venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and St Paul’s Cathedral. The cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason (BELOW) is the gifted cellist who performed while the couple were signing the registry. The 19-year-old – who’s the 2016 winner of the BBC’s Young Musician competitio­n – is a student at the prestigiou­s Royal Academy of Music and combines his studies with a busy internatio­nal concert career.

He says he was bowled over when Meghan called. “Of course I immediatel­y said yes! What a privilege to be able to play the cello at such a wonderful event.”
