OLD AND NASTY

I work in a retirement village. During my time there I’ve lost all respect for pensioners and retirees. They treat all staff, from grounds and maintenance through to reception, like some kind of disease.

Staff are constantly being called names and treated in all sorts of manner to make you feel bad and less than human. They go so far as to lie and sabotage things to make you look bad so that they have another reason to shout and scream at you.

I was raised to respect my elders but, after these few years, I can’t willingly respect any of them. The level of disrespect is definitely associated with race and culture. Old people, wake up – we’re here to help and care for you, not be your daily punchbag for a life not well lived. FED UP, EMAIL
