DURIAN IN SOUTHEAST ASIA

The durian fruit of Indonesia and Malaysia is rather bizarre.

It contains a delicious, creamy custardlike pulp – but it’s so smelly it’s banned from many hotels, underground trains and even streets.

Its smell has been described as a mixture of body odour, rotten onion and raw sewage.

Apparently it’s very tasty – if you can survive the smell!
