Jason and Jolene

-

Jason Rohde’s lover, Jolene Alterskye, knew the man was married yet she embarked on a sexual relationship with him (YOU, 14 June). She seemed bent on destroying the marriage so the two of them could be together.

When the trial is over she’ll just walk away and get on with her life.

But wait. They say what goes around comes around. Hopefully the wheel turns quickly and she gets to pay her dues. JW, PORT ELIZABETH

I don’t believe Jason Rohde killed his wife and I’m sceptical of therapists. They say what makes their cash-cow clients look good and what their clients believe. I’ve seen it many times in my work.

Every woman says she wants the truth but when she gets it she can’t handle it. Real life isn’t a fairytale. Accept it with dignity, get what you’re entitled to, keep your dignity and get on with your new life. People fall out of love – accept it.

This isn’t the ’20s when you stayed together forever. FARIDA, EMAIL

After reading the article about what led to the death of Susan Rohde, I found the words of Dolly Parton’s song Jolene ringing in my ears:

“Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene/ “I’m begging of you please, don’t take my man.”

Regardless of the outcome of Jason Rohde’s trial, Jolene Alterskye will have to live with the guilt resulting from the part she played in this tragedy for the rest of her life. AVRIL MCINTYRE, OLIVEDALE
