THAT was quick! Less than a month after becoming an item PETE DAVIDSON (24) and ARIANA GRANDE (25) are engaged. It was a whirlwind romance by any standards. Reports they were seeing each other emerged on 21 May, just days after Ariana announced her split from rapper Mac Miller (26) and Pete was last seen with actress girlfriend Cazzie David (24).

A week later, Pete fuelled the rumours by sharing a photo of himself and the No Tears Left To Cry singer in Harry Potter costumes.

The Saturday Night Live actor and comedian also took to Instagram about 10 days later to show off his new tattoos – Ariana’s initials and her trademark bunny ears mask.

Finally, about four weeks after the initial rumours they confirmed they were planning to walk down the aisle and soon after Ariana announced on Instagram they’d moved in together.

But while many of the four-time Grammy nominee’s fans are delighted for her, others are concerned that one of the reasons the pop star is moving so quickly is the lingering effects of post-traumatic stress disorder brought on after the bomb explosion at her 2017 concert at Manchester Arena in the UK. She recently told Vogue the terror attack in May last year, which claimed 22 lives, was extremely traumatic for her.

“I don’t think I’ll ever know how to talk about it and not cry,” she said. “I’ve always had anxiety but when I got home from tour it was the most severe I think it’s ever been.”

Pete is also no stranger to mental health battles. He was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD) in 2016 and has spoken candidly about his struggle with the condition.

He recently hit back at the negative reactions to his relationship with Ariana. “Normally I wouldn’t comment on something but I’ve been hearing a lot of ‘people-with-BPDcan’ttalk,” he wrote in an Instagram story. “Just because someone has a mental illness doesn’t mean they can’t be happy and in a relationship.”

You tell ’em, Pete!
