KARDASHIAN clan member KENDALL JENNER claims her words were twisted in a recent interview with Love magazine, making her sound as if she was shaming her fellow models. She was quoted talking about her “super selective” approach to doing fashion shows. “I was never one of those girls who would do like 30 shows a season or whatever the f**k those girls do. More power to ‘em. But I had a million jobs, not only catwalks but everything else,” the 22-year-old said, adding that her hectic schedule had her “on the verge of a mental breakdown”.

The comments have since fuelled a furore about privilege in the fashion industry.

“Never been so indirectly and publicly offended in my whole entire life . . . to be called a supermodel how easy it comes to you [sic],” fellow model Irina Djuranovic (20) posted on Instagram. Sports Illustrated model Vita Sidorkina (24) also hit back, saying, “Maybe ‘those girls’ need to pay their bills – that’s why they are doing 30 shows?”

Kendall, who’s most recently been linked to basketball player Ben Simmons (22), quickly backtracked on her controversial statements, tweeting that her comments were meant to be “entirely complimentary”.

Her representatives told Vanity Fair that “the quote was taken out of context. She admires their hard work and So far, the models haven’t responded to Kendall’s statement that her quote was taken out of context.
