Happy times for Angie’s brood

Putting her divorce heartache aside, Angie has been taking time out with her brood for shopping trips, lunch and sweet treats

- COMPILED BY KIRSTIN BUICK In June, a judge made a ruling that Angie needed to allow Brad more time to spend with his children.

SHE may be embroiled in one of the most emotionally taxing, drawn-out divorces in Hollywood but you have to hand it to her: when she’s with her kids she looks as though she doesn’t have a care in the world.

And that’s always been Angelina Jolie’s intention – no matter how rough things may be in the adult world, harmony and consistency must reign when it comes to the youngsters.

In the case of the Jolie- Pitt six, consistency means outings with mom – and Angie hasn’t shied away from taking her sons and daughters out and about in the two years since she and Brad Pitt went from love to loathing.

Recent pictures tell the tale pretty well.

ANGIE’S GIRLS

It seems just yesterday Shiloh was a baby, all adorable pout and flyaway blonde hair. Now she’s 12 – a lanky, long-limbed tween who’s growing like a weed and could soon be as tall as her mother.

Big sis Zahara is 13 and, according to her mom, has always been the natural comedian of the family – and “the most stylish among us too”. The sisters are firm friends, Angelina has said, and this certainly seemed to be the case when she took her two big girls on an outing in sun-drenched Los Angeles recently.

Shi and Zee, as Angie calls them, were in great spirits, laughing as they walked along the street on a shopping expedition. Even Shiloh, who’s often head down and wary of the ever-present cameras, seemed carefree.

The trio popped into trendy clothing store Kitson where Zahara and Shiloh were delighted to discover a candid snap of their mother on display on a wall in a collage of photos of celebrities who’d shopped there.

According to store owner Fraser Ross, the sisters yelled, “Mom, look! Your picture is up there!”

“Oh my, when was that?” Angelina said, chuckling as she looked at the old pic of herself in a frilly white shirt and pencil skirt taken in 2006.

“It was a cute ‘aha’ moment, when you spot your mom on our celebrity hall of fame display,” Fraser recalled afterwards. As they browsed his wares Fraser found himself muttering apologies to Angie as her daughters thumbed through cards that had the F-word printed on them.

The actress waved him away. “Don’t worry,” she said, “they have brothers.”

Fraser was all praise for Angie’s mothering skills. “She’s very loving and attentive. She’s interested in everything they say to her. There’s obviously a very strong bond there.” Ten-year-old Vivienne wasn’t there on this occasion but insiders say the little girl is close to her mother, which is evident in the way she clings to her whenever they’re out in public.
