JUST A BIG SOFTIE!
Comedian NICHOLAS GOLIATH (33) isn’t just hilarious – he’s got a pretty big heart too. The funnyman – who’s part of the Goliath & Goliath comedy team with Jason and Donovan – was named an ambassador for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees’ LuQuLuQu campaign, which aims to transform public perceptions of African refugees. We asked him to share things you probably don’t know about him.
1 I got national colours for table tennis in high school. I started playing because I was too small for rugby and my school didn’t offer soccer – only to find I was quite a decent player! 2 I’m an ambassador for the Sunflower Fund, an organisation that assists people with rare blood disorders by recruiting stem-cell donors. There aren’t enough people registered and it’s an amazing opportunity to save a life without having to run into a burning building. 3 I was the [computer game] Fifa 16 champion. I’ve been playing the game for the past six years with a group of friends. We get together and have a night of 4 all-out Fifa madness. Things get tense! People are often surprised to find out I’m quite an emotional guy. I know I have this tough exterior with what some people might consider criminal features, but on the inside I’m just a softy. I often find myself holding back the tears while watching an emotional movie. I used to try to control it but I’ve accepted it now and realise there’s nothing wrong with guys who cry.
