Johnny & Amber TRADE BARBS

-

It’s been four months since actor JOHNNY DEPP (55) sat down for that now infamous interview with Rolling Stone magazine which took place over three nights.

In it the Murder on the Orient Express star dished on how he spends more than $30 000 (R450 000) a month on wine, and the deep depression he fell into after his split from ex-wife AMBER HEARD (32).

Johnny later hit back at the publication, calling the interview a sham and claiming he was shafted by the journalist.

But judging by another recent magazine confessional, the three-time Oscar nominee hasn’t learnt his lesson when it comes to pouring his heart out to journalists.

In an interview with British GQ he breaks his silence on Amber’s abuse allegations, even accusing the Justice League actress of faking the bruises she used as evidence in court documents.

“To harm someone you love? As a kind of bully? No, it didn’t, it couldn’t even sound like me. So initially I just kept my mouth shut,” he says. “I worry about the people who bought it and I worry about her. It’s just not right.

“I’ll never stop fighting. An episode like this takes time to get over. It’s a mourning for someone you thought was . . .” When asked if he was going to call her the love of his life, he replies, “Well, something. I did marry her somehow.”

Johnny – who has a daughter, LILY-ROSE (19), and a son, JACK (16), with former partner Vanessa Paradis (45) – also touched on how the allegations have affected his children.

“How could someone, anyone, come out with something like that against someone when there’s no truth to it whatsoever? I’m sure it wasn’t easy for my [then] 14-year-old boy to go to school, you know what I mean? With people going, ‘Hey, look at this magazine, man. What, your dad beats up chicks or something?’ Why did he have to go through that? Why did my daughter have to go through that?”

Soon after the issue hit shelves Amber’s lawyer savaged the cover story, calling the magazine a platform for psychological abuse. “If GQ had done even a basic investigation into Mr Depp’s claims it would have quickly realised his statements are entirely untrue,” the statement read.

But Johnny isn’t done talking and is considering penning a tell-all of his own, an insider claims. “Johnny has suffered the most painfully difficult few years of his life and part of him just wants people to know he’s a good guy,” the source claims. “He actually feels the need to write a memoir not just to understand himself and the pain he’s experienced but also to share with the world that in real life he’s not a villain.”

Might not be a bad idea, Johnny – but then you won’t be able to accuse anyone of putting words in your mouth.
