BEING AS NORMAL AS POSSIBLE

William and Kate’s childhoods couldn’t have been more different and the couple are making a concerted effort to ensure their children grow up in the kind of home that helped Kate become the woman she is.

“Stability at home is so important to me,” William told British GQ when George was much younger. “I want to bring up my children in a happy, stable, secure world and that’s so important to both of us as parents.

“I want George to grow up in a real, living environment. I don’t want him growing up behind palace walls. He has to be out there.”

The couple love to visit the Old Boot Inn in Bucklebury, Berkshire, which is close to where Kate grew up.

The kids, according to pub landlord Andre Claassen, like to play in the garden.

“When George is here, he wears a camouflage outfit. You have to pretend like you can’t see him. Charlotte is very cute. She plays in the garden with my partner Rebecca’s daughter,” he told Hello! magazine. “One time we had a coach full of Dutch tourists out there with them and no one even knew who they were, because they always just look like an ordinary family. “I think they like coming here because people leave them alone. No one bothers them or asks for selfies.”

Last year Kate spoke about how much she treasures time with her kids. “Spending quality time together is such an important aspect of family life and for me, as a mother, it’s the simple family moments like playing outside together that I cherish.”

She also ensures the children aren’t spoilt brats. They have to do chores, like putting away their toys and cleaning up messes they’ve made. They also take turns looking after their pet dog, Lupo.

Presumably, the same applies to their pet hamster, Marvin – if he’s still alive, as he was a baby hamster in 2016 and these rodent typically live for three years.
