‘I’m just as surprised as everyone else’

– KIM ON HER CONSIDERABLE POLITICAL INFLUENCE

ON TONING DOWN THE NUDITY

“I realised I couldn’t even scroll through Instagram in front of my kids without full nudity coming up on my feed. And I contributed to that,” Kim (39) says of her own saucy social media snaps. “Also, one day I was at the White House and then the next day I was posting a crazy bikini selfie. And I was thinking, ‘I hope they don’t see this. I have to go back there next week’.”

ON THE INFAMOUS PARIS ROBBERY

“I definitely see the things I brought on myself, the biggest being the robbery. Just being flashy and oversharing my every move on social media,” she says of the October 2016 incident during which she was held at gunpoint in the French capital and robbed of $10 million (then R135m) worth of jewellery.

“Now I’m just like, ‘Let’s actually live in real time and enjoy it. If we happen to get a photo, great.’ I think I’m evolving to where I don’t feel the need to want to keep up.”

ON KEEPING UP WITH THE KARDASHIANS

The reality TV show is still going strong and is now in its 17th season. Kim has no qualms about documenting her life on television. “I’ve never regretted it. I’ve always felt, like, I’m so grateful to have all of those memories on camera,” she explains.

The businesswoman, who owns several makeup lines and perfumes, said she can sit back and laugh about how much she cared about making a name for herself early on, adding, “Oh my God, I was desperate!”

ON HER MARRIAGE TO KANYE WEST

Kim, who wed the 42-year-old rapper in 2014, revealed the one consistent thing in their marriage is that it’s never stopped being fun, even after the couple became parents to their four kids – North (6), Saint (4), Chicago (22 months) and Psalm (7 months).

“It’s okay not to understand each other. It’s okay not to have the same exact feelings all the time. It’s just about figuring out how do we grow from that? And giving each other space and time to figure that out.”
