POOR MEGHAN, DUCHESS OF SUSSEX! Just when she thought her dad’s side of the clan couldn’t get any worse, another family member pops out of the woodwork to trash her. Speaking from his home in a Florida caravan park, the duchess’ uncle MIKE MARKLE recently branded Meghan a “prima donna” and claimed the “chip on her shoulder” could be the reason for her rumoured feud with Prince William’s wife, Kate. The 80-year-old former diplomat said he’d helped his niece on her way to becoming a stateswoman long before she met Prince Harry. He claims he used his connections to secure her a prestigious internship in the American embassy in Argentina back when Meghan (then 20) was considering a career in international relations. “I’ve probably done more for her than most,” he said. “I personally talked to the ambassador in Argentina for her. I helped her out and I didn’t ask for anything in return.” But now he claims the mother of one has turned her back on her American family altogether. “Meghan has climbed socially and left us behind – that’s how I feel,” says Mike, elder brother of her father, Thomas Markle (75). “I think that’s what happens when you’re underclass and trying to rise above the reality of your situation.” The 38-year-old duchess might not be popular among her father’s side of the family, but she has many high-profile supporters. Ever since she and Prince Harry (35) took legal action against the British tabloid press in October, many of their famous friends have publicly spoken out in support of their fight.
