I’M DISGUSTED WITH HIS SELFISHNESS!

-

I had my own business but due to the pandemic and lockdown I had to close down and am now in serious financial straits – to the extent that I’ve lost my house and my family is basically destitute.

I have managed to find a onebedroom apartment for the four of us with the little money we had left but now the landlord wants to kick us out because we’re unable to pay rent.

The landlord is a very affluent man yet he is unwilling to allow us to stay in the apartment even though I have given my word that I’ll pay him what I owe him as soon as I am on my feet again. I am fortunate in that I have just found a job, so things are looking up for us now at least.

How can a person have so little empathy for others? I don’t understand it. I just need to work for a month or two and then I can start paying rent again. Benjamin, email Unfortunately there are people who are sorely lacking in compassion and unable to be empathetic towards others. They think of their own needs first, forgetting that in the blink of an eye they may find themselves in the same situation.

My experience is that the more you help others and give to those who are in need, the more you will be blessed. But not everyone sees things this way.

Perhaps you should contact a church in your neighbourhood and find out if they are able to assist you until you’re back on your feet – just so your family can keep the roof over their heads.

Alternatively, you could contact welfare organisations such as Lions Clubs International or Rotary International and ask for assistance.

These are difficult times, but there are people who are willing to help whenever they can.
