Your Baby & Toddler

Before you start

-

Use a shallow bath filled with soothing warm water that envelopes your baby’s little body. To ensure the water temperature is suitable, use a bath thermometer or test it with your hand – the temperature should be around 38°C. Be sure to have a towel and Purity & Elizabeth Anne’s Consultant Dermatologist and Paediatrician approved baby toiletries at hand.

4Pick your baby up using a firm hold – place your left wrist under baby’s head and your left hand around the top of baby’s left arm. Your right hand should be under baby’s bottom and the fingers of this hand around baby’s left thigh.

When you are ready to take your baby out the bath, hold him firmly, lift him and place him on a towel. Use a facecloth or damp cotton wool to clean his face and wipe his eyes from the inside out. To dry your baby, wrap him snugly in a towel and cuddle and pat him dry and enjoy this bonding time. Use an Aqueous Cream or Lotion from the Purity & Elizabeth Anne’s range to keep your little one’s skin soft and smelling like a baby should.

7 Now turn your baby over while supporting him under his arms so that you can rinse his back.

This is known as a safety hold, and ideal for use when you place your baby in the water. When you release your right hand, you can use it to rinse soap off your baby’s tummy and body. Lean him back into the bath with your hand supporting his head
