6 meals that boost your breastmilk

Breastfeed­ing is not always as easy as leaving it to Mother Nature. But she may be able to help you with some herbs, spices and foods that increase milk supply. Here are a few recipes for easy family meals that may also help you breastfeed better

Easy overnight oats

⅓ cup oats ⅓ cup milk ⅓ cup yoghurt 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional, available from Dis-chem or health food stores) 1 small banana, mashed

FOR THE TOPPINGS Chopped nuts Nut butter Fresh fruit Stewed fruit Honey, maple syrup or brown sugar to sweeten (taste first, you may not need it) Stir all the ingredient­s together and leave overnight in the fridge. In the morning, add a topping or two of your choice and enjoy. We used chopped nuts, banana slices and a drizzle of honey. You can also stir in a tablespoon of cocoa powder if you’re a chocoholic.
