Your Baby & Toddler

My pride and joy

- Tebogo ubisi

I have to admit that I was completely unprepared for how being a father would change my life – and for the better! During the pregnancy, I really thought that the baby and everything to do with it was my wife’s problem. That men just aren’t made to be such a big part of babyhood. But when our little girl was born I experienced what I could only describe as an overwhelming love and need to care for her, myself. My friends and family tease me constantly because I go out of my way to bath the baby and change her nappies, that I sing her lullabies and spend time playing with her instead of catching the latest game on TV – but I don’t care what they say! Looking after our little girl hand in hand with my wife is the best feeling ever, and it’s taught me so much about myself. So to the dads out there, stop worrying about what the world will think of you and get down to really parenting your baby. Be involved with all the aspects and I promise you, you won’t look back.
