If you had one, don’t forget to look after your c-section scar. The more care you give it now, the sooner you’ll be rid of any post-op skin irritation. Use a good tissue oil on the scar as this really helps improve the appearance. And to boost the healing process, consider taping the wound with micro-pore tape – experts say it reduces the tension around the wound, which helps to lessen the amount of scar tissue that forms. You can wear the tape for up to five days before changing it, but be sure you put a few drop of tissue oil on the tape every day.

You may find yourself battling hormonal surges after having your baby – and all the breakouts and blemishes that come with them. This is where a good concealer changes your life, along with a foundation that blends well while offering a bit of extra coverage. Skip the drawn out cleansing ritual by using a good cleansing wipe. Your mom was right; you should never go to sleep with your makeup on! Even if you haven’t had time to shower, let alone apply moisturiser or makeup, smelling good goes a long way to helping you feel like a human being. A quick spritz of scent is sometimes all you’ll be able to manage – and that’s okay.
