Your Baby & Toddler

MY HEAVYWEIGHT GIFT

-

My first trimester, I was as sick as a dog, in the second trimester my brother got ill and passed on. As if that was not enough when I was in my third trimester I started experiencing pains in my abdomen.

The only thing that kept me going was the excitement of knowing what was coming. The little baby growing inside of me!

I must admit that reading Your Baby magazine was what made the journey easier and bearable for me. I found comfort in reading it. The excitement of having an amazing gift inside of me kept me going.

On the 5th of September, I was on week 39, I delivered, naturally, a healthy baby boy who weighed a whopping 4.5kgs. I was prepared and knew that, thanks to your magazine, I was going to breastfeed him exclusively for the first six months.

Today, baby Sisanda is the most beautiful baby, peaceful and forever smiling. He is getting bigger each passing day and is learning new things daily. He feeds well and enjoys looking into my eyes. Our bond is very strong and I wouldn’t trade him for anything in this world.

My wish is that we would have more articles for parents with big babies as I think not much of that information is available. I felt I was prepared to deal with things like postnatal depression, babies born with a normal weight and preterm babies but I wasn’t well equipped to deal with Sisanda. ZINZI NGWENYA, NELSPRUIT
