PATTY-PAN SQUASH PURÉE

PREP + COOK TIME 20 MINUTES (+ COOLING) MAKES 1 CUP (12 TABLESPOON­S)

Trim ends and coarsely chop 300g patty-pan squash. Steam squash for 12 minutes or until tender; drain. Cool slightly; blend or process squash with a little breast milk or cooled boiled water, if needed, until smooth.

TIPS Store covered in the fridge for up to 1 day. Suitable to freeze, in 1-tablespoon portions in icecube trays, covered for up to 1 month.

SWEET POTATO PURÉE

PREP + COOK TIME 25 MINUTES (+ COOLING) MAKES 1 CUP (12 TABLESPOON­S)

Peel and coarsely chop 1 medium sweet potato. Steam for 20 minutes or until tender; drain. Cool slightly; blend or process with approximat­ely 1 tablespoon of breast milk or cooled boiled water until smooth.

TIPS Reheat frozen portions of vegetable purées in a microwave on medium (50 percent) power until just warmed. Suitable to freeze, in 1-tablespoon portions in ice-cube trays, covered for up to 1 month.

CARROT PURÉE

Peel and coarsely chop 2 large carrots. Steam carrots for 15 minutes or until tender; drain. Cool slightly; blend or process carrot with 2 tablespoon­s of breast milk or cooled boiled water until smooth.

PUMPKIN PURÉE

PREP + COOK TIME 20 MINUTES (+ COOLING) MAKES 1 CUP (12 TABLESPOON­S)

Peel, seed and coarsely chop 400g pumpkin. Steam pumpkin for 12 minutes or until tender; drain. Cool slightly; push pumpkin through a sieve. Stir in a little breast milk or cooled boiled water, if needed, until smooth.
