You’re on the verge of meeting the most precious person you’ll ever know. Scans and kicks have already introduced you, and I’m sure you’ve been speculating with your family about the looks and character traits of your eagerly awaited baby. It’s all so exciting and fascinating! Prepare to be overwhelmed by emotions at times and be sure to be gentle and patient with yourself as you adapt to your new role as mom of the world’s most amazing baby. Of course, we’re here to help with the first bit of the journey. The better care you take of yourself during pregnancy – mentally and physically – the quicker you’ll bounce back to being yourself. I don’t want to say “your old self”, because having a baby changes you in so many ways. Embrace it and you’ll still be you, but with so many more interesting facets than before. This month we’re spoiling you with some extras to help you prepare. Our breastfeeding supplement is crammed with essential information to ensure that you and baby are off to a good start. Please read it and take it along to hospital as well to read there again. My first four days of nursing my newborn were really tough. I was in another country and couldn’t really understand the nurses. My husband helped so much, without putting pressure on me, but it was all new to him too. I wish I’d had a guide like the one we put together for this issue. Fortunately things sorted themselves out for me and within a week I was happily nursing. I loved it. Breastfeeding is one of the cuddliest, loveliest thing you can do with your baby. It’s immensely satisfying to see your baby grow and know “I did that!” Take care,
