VBAC OR CAESAREAN

Your Pregnancy - - Letters -

I had to have an emergency caesarean section with my son two years ago. When I fell pregnant this time, I enquired about a trail of labour after caesarean (TOLAC). My gynaecologist was hesitant at first, but has allowed me to try for a vaginal birth after caesarean. I’ve faced a lot of scepticism from people and have often wondered if I’m doing the right thing, but after reading Your Pregnancy magazine and the real life stories, I feel so encouraged to do this! I believe it doesn’t matter how a baby is born, whether it’s a natural delivery or C-section, as long as the baby enters the world safely. Thank you for the positive articles and inspiring stories that have always left me feeling so uplifted throughout my pregnancy! BETH LOUW, KWAZULU-NATAL
