Your Pregnancy

This issue is a real treat! Apart from our 40-week memento calendar and stickers, there is a generous Bio-Oil sample and Your Essential Newborn Guide 2020 in the bag. We also hope you notice that our mag is thicker! We’ve decided to combine our two sister titles to bring you pregnancy and parenting advice in one big read. We believe that you simply can’t have enough information and advice during this amazing time in your life. We’ve also done a spring clean of our design. Charné Casey, our art director (left on the picture), has been working on Media24’s parenting magazines for donkey’s years. I won’t give away her age, but she really looks like my younger sister, right? That’s what happens when you work together for 13 years. Charné is also the mother of little blond twins, Alexander and Emma, who are in Grade 1 this year. I suspect they keep her busier than I do!

So what else can you expect from the team? We will be alternating cover images, so that every second issue we feature a baby on the cover, just in case you were worried that your cover baby entry was all for nothing. By the way, the entries are streaming in. If you haven’t entered yet, you have until 12 June. The finalists will be featured in our August & September issue, and the winner will be on our October & November cover. In Your Pregnancy Files (p 53) you will still get essential information on every stage and aspect of pregnancy, from conception to birth, as well as breastfeeding. In Your Parenting Files (p 83), we take you through the ages and stages, from newborn to toddler.

We pride ourselves on good oldfashioned journalism featuring local experts, so our content is always relevant to how pregnancy, birth and childcare play out in a South African context. The same goes for our lifestyle offering of recipes, decor, parties, crafting and shopping. We keep it local, so that you can take all that inspiration and make it yours! Please pop us an email or a DM on social media (we’re everywhere!), and share what you love about this issue. We really love to hear from you. After all, #sharing is what we’re all about! Enjoy this autumn issue, and make a note to buy the winter issue (June & July) which will be on shelf from 15 May onwards.

Hugs,
