The positions were decided over the weekend during the 7th Musa Dladla Regional elective conference, held at the University of Zululand.

On Saturday scores of ANC delegates, Provincial Task Team members and NEC deployees started their day by lighting candles in memory of two ANC members who were slain in the week leading up to the conference: Maqatha Mchunu from Moses Mabhida region who was killed on Friday, and Sifiso Cele from the Lower South Coast region, who was gunned down on Monday.

Mkhulisi was giving a political report to the ANC delegates at the start of the conference.

‘We must be ensure competent individuals are employed to make our municipalities perform better.

‘We must also strongly discourage the use of municipal employment opportunities as political rewards for certain factions, it be EPWP or any other position,’ said Mkhulisi.
